The Boeing SkyHook JHL-40 will consist of a helium-filled envelope that keeps it afloat and four rotors that enable it to lift up to 40 tons in a sling load. The aircraft will be able to travel up to 200 miles without refueling and is designed to enable companies to undertake projects in remote areas without having to build roads to transport equipment and materials there.

According to Boeing, it will be able to reach where no other kind of transport can go, at a fraction of the cost, with less environmental impact, and without danger to the crew. Seeing it flying carrying massive tree trunks makes the JHL-40 look even more impressive.

SkyHook will own, maintain, operate and service all JHL-40 aircraft. The company will make the aircraft available commercially as soon as it is certified by Transport Canada and the Federal Aviation Administration.
