‘Guitar Hero’ Action Figures Coming Soon

Guitar Hero is a popular series of music video games published by RedOctane in partnership with Activision. The series is notable for its use of a guitar-shaped peripheral to simulate the playing of music, represented on-screen by colored notes that correspond to fret buttons on the controller. The games support individual play as well as cooperative and competitive modes for two players. While we totally understood when Blizzard announced that World of Warcraft would have a cool set of action figures released in its vain, one game we didn’t expect to see action figures for was Guitar Hero. But nevertheless, Activision and McFarlane Toys are joining forces to create a line of Guitar Hero themed action figures for McFarlane’s fall line. Continue reading…

Spray on Skin Gun Shoots Stem Cells To Heal Your Open Wounds

The Armed Forces Institute for Regenerative Medicine invested $250 million in a project focused on therapies like the famous “Pixie Dust” that can help heal soldiers on the front lines in Iraq. The “skin gun,” it could spray skin-healing stem cells over a wound—helping it heal in a matter of hours.Because of its use of stem cells, a skin regenerating gun would certainly cause a stir among conservative types—but if you were caught out on a battlefield with a gaping wound, you would be begging for technology like this.

Given the relatively small amount of funding and the potential ethical roadblocks the military would run into trying to develop a skin gun, my guess is that we probably won’t see a device like this in our local pharmacy anytime soon. But it is interesting to think that it could be possible somewhere down the line.

Upcoming Ferrari supercars based on FXX and Millechili concept

A second supercar could appear based on the FXX development program, we think it far more likely that one vehicle will prevail, borrowing on themes and components from both the Millechili and the FXX test-bed.With the Enzo now out of production, and no mega-super-car in the Ferrari stable, the prancing stallion brand believes the Millechili concept, first revealed at the automaker’s 60th anniversary extravaganza, to move from the realm of conceptual toilet paper tubes to production.

The buff book’s sources report Ferrari is looking to see the Ferrari Millechili hit the streets as a 2010 model. One approach is reportedly being based on the Millechili concept, which as you’ll recall was essentially a chopped-down Enzo crafted out of cardboard and plastic holding the promise of environmentally-friendly specs. The production vehicle is tipped to be based on the F430’s platform remember that the 288 GTO and F40 were based on modified 308 underpinnings – but feature a 600hp V10 in a lightweight 1000kg package, with a lengthened wheelbase of around 104 inces, a $500,000 price tag and a production run of 300.

Electroluminescent Suits Keep Things Glowing

Good thing Halloween is months away. You’ll need that time to hone your sewing skills in the noble quest to create a Daft Punk suit of your very own. Instructables has everything you need (except the electroluminescent wire, soldering iron, heat gun, and pleather tracksuit) to build an EL suit worthy of electronic celebration.
Even though I can’t think of an occasion to wear it, I can’t help but wonder where you get an outfit like this. As it turns out, it doesn’t look like these suits are available on the market any time soon by any fashion designer that I know.
I’m not certain how much of an electronics expert that you have to be to build one of these EL suits, but it doesn’t look like a quickie project. Not only does it look complicated, but it could be pretty shocking if things turned out wrong.

In short, make the suit, wear the suit, but don’t walk out in the rain.
